Astra Militarum Battleforce

This Astra Militarum boxed set is an excellent way to start a new army or expand an existing collection for games of Warhammer 40,000. Packed with infantry, command units, artillery teams, and heavy armour, it gives Imperial Guard commanders a durable and hard-hitting force for seizing objectives and holding the line.

The force is led by a ruthless Commissar, supported by a Cadian Command Squad and a unit of Cadian Shock Troops. Heavy battlefield support comes from two Field Ordnance Teams, while a Basilisk and Rogal Dorn Battle Tank bring long-ranged firepower and armoured strength to the army.

A Balanced Astra Militarum Army Set

Taken together, the models in this box form a flexible Astra Militarum force with infantry, officers, artillery, and tanks. The Cadian infantry provide a strong core for taking and holding objectives, while the Commissar helps drive the force forward with uncompromising discipline.

The Field Ordnance Teams add adaptable heavy weapons support, the Basilisk offers long-ranged artillery fire, and the Rogal Dorn Battle Tank provides a powerful armoured centrepiece capable of dealing with a wide range of enemy threats.

Commissar

The Commissar can be assembled with either a chainsword or a single-edged power sword, both featuring a wrist-mounted power pack. This gives you a choice of classic close-combat options for the officer leading your Astra Militarum force.

Cadian Shock Troops

The Cadian Shock Troops form a reliable infantry unit armed with lasguns and frag grenades. The squad is led by a Sergeant, who can be equipped with either a drum-fed autogun, or a chainsword paired with a laspistol or bolt pistol.

The kit also includes special weapon options for the squad, including a flamer, grenade launcher, meltagun, and plasma gun, as well as a vox-caster for battlefield communications.

A wide range of cosmetic options is included, with more than 20 different heads, plus sandbags, combat knives, a spade, a spare helmet, and plenty of bedrolls for customising your Cadian infantry.

Cadian Command Squad

The Cadian Command Squad is made up of a Cadian Commander and four Veteran Guardsmen. The Commander can be armed with a laspistol, bolt pistol, or plasma pistol in one hand, and a chainsword, power sword, or power fist in the other.

The accompanying Veterans can be built in specialised battlefield roles. These include a field medic with lasgun and medi-pack, a vox operator with laspistol and master vox system, a bodyguard with a laspistol and close combat weapon, and a standard bearer carrying a lasgun and regimental standard.

The bodyguard and banner bearer can alternatively be built as weapons specialists with a choice of flamer, grenade launcher, meltagun, or plasma gun. The kit also includes magnoculars, slung and stowed weapons, three finials for the regimental standard, and a wide range of head and basing options.

Field Ordnance Teams

Each Field Ordnance Team features a gunner and two spotters or loaders, crewing your choice of heavy weapon. Weapon options include a malleus rocket launcher, bombast field gun, or heavy lascannon.

The spotters and loaders are armed with lasguns and frag grenades, and the crew can be customised with a range of heads, arms, ammunition, poses, and battlefield accessories. The gun carriage can also be built without the gunner.

Thanks to partial glueless assembly, the carriage legs can pivot, or the carriage can be built with its legs closed, giving you flexibility in how the artillery pieces are displayed or used on the tabletop.

Basilisk

The Basilisk is a long-ranged artillery vehicle that can be upgraded with a dozer blade, hunter-killer missile, and armoured tracks. Its cannon can be assembled without glue, allowing you to adjust the angle of fire.

The rear firing platform includes components to build a gunner with a choice of heads and arms. Additional accessories include bedrolls, entrenching gear, a spotlight, spare fuel, hatch options, and aquila sigils for further vehicle customisation.

Rogal Dorn Battle Tank

The Rogal Dorn Battle Tank is a heavy Astra Militarum vehicle with a wide range of weapon options. Its primary turret weapon can be built as either a twin battle cannon or an oppressor cannon with a coaxial autocannon.

A secondary hull hard point can mount either a castigator gatling cannon or a pulveriser cannon. Optional sponson mounts can be armed with a pair of heavy bolters or multi-meltas, while optional forward mounts can house heavy stubbers or meltaguns.

The tank’s tracks can be upgraded with additional armour, and the kit includes extensive cosmetic options such as tow hooks, viewing slits, extra fuel, a searchlight, and stowed equipment.

The Rogal Dorn also includes three crew members: a spotter, tank officer, and a gunner for the pintle-mounted heavy stubber. These can be built with a choice of five head options or replaced with closed hatches.

Transfers Included

The box includes two Astra Militarum Vehicle Transfer Sheets and three Cadian Transfer Sheets. Each vehicle transfer sheet features 475 high-quality waterslide transfers, while each Cadian transfer sheet features 597 high-quality waterslide transfers.

The vehicle transfers include heraldry for regiments from Cadia, Catachan, Valhalla, Vostroya, Mordian, Tallarn, Krieg, and Tanith, along with squad markings, numerals, and other details. The Cadian transfer sheets include numerals, squad markings, and Cadian regimental heraldry for decorating your infantry and vehicles.
