"Funduq is the cradle of the Qapu Kahlqi Navy, the executing arm of Kerim Bey, Sultan de Funduq. Its relationship with the Silk trade is very close, to the point of being responsible for the safety of the routes traveled by the merchants of this unique product. The architecture of the capital has never been ostentatious, so it is characterized by being made up of low-rise buildings. Only in the nerve center of Dar el Funduq the average height of the buildings is surpassed."

"Small haven of peace amid the hustle and bustle of the capital, the sahn offers a space of meditation and introspection in the day to day of the employees of the different merchants' guilds based in Dar el Funduq."
