- 1 x 1/800th scale Warlord resin USS Idaho battleship model
The USS Idaho was a New-Mexico class battleship, laid down in 1915 by the New York Ship Building Corporation, launched in June 1917, and commissioned in March 1919.
USS Idaho carried 12 x 14 inch / 356mm 50 cal guns as a main armament, housed in four 3 barrel turrets (which her class was among the first US battleships to field) in this way, her armour belt was 343mm at it's thickest point, while her decks were protected with 89mm of plating - a superb degree of protection for her time.
The Idaho received several modifications over it's lifetime: losing some of it's gun armament to make room for additional AA mounts and aircraft catapult, but the overall design remained the same, and this noble ship supported the US navy throughout it's campaign in the Pacific, including being one of the US ships present in Tokyo Bay when Japan officially declared surrender, and had accrued an impressive collection of battle stars and accolades throughout it's life until it was scrapped in 1947.
